Return to the Stillness Within

This retreat offers a chance to slow down, step away from distractions, and reconnect with yourself. With sacred pauses, digital rest,  gentle yoga and quiet sitting – guided by ancient philosophy and wisdom, give yourself the space to clear mental noise and reconnect with a calmer, more grounded presence within.

Experiences

Mindful Movement

Daily guided movements to the sounds of nature, surrounded by mountains and fresh, cool air. Each day will begin with a grounding session that is tailored to release tension and create space for deep relaxation.

  • Sunrise pranayama (breathing)
  • Daily yoga practice and meditation sessions
  • Workshops /Yoga Philosophy
  • Reflection & Quiet time

Immerse in Nature

Nestled within amidst a lush 10-hectare estate in the higher altitudes of central Bali, we will be staying on a working bio-dynamic coffee plantation, away from the tourist crowds and wrapped in the embrace of a peaceful sanctuary.

Silence

"Yoga is the stillness of the mind activity."- Sage Patanjali.

As our nervous system starts to calm down in the absence of artificial stimulation, our minds experience a gradual and comfortable ease and relaxation, moving us naturally towards stillness.

We will be led gradually towards a day of silence, setting aside our devices and turning inward, to discover what unfolds when we meet ourselves without distraction.

**You are encouraged to set aside your mobile phones for a set hours within the day.

Waterfall Meditation

We will gather by the waterfall for a guided meditation, spending time walking and sitting mindfully in the surrounding forest. Our practice of staying present continues here, supported by the rhythm of flowing water and the elements of nature.

Sustainable Living

All rooms are uniquely built with one-of-a-kind repurposed local materials, and open to the spectacular views. These buildings are constructed in a manner that fully respect the natural terrains of the mountains.

Located at an altitude of 900m above sea level, the estate enjoys cool mornings and evenings.

**Please note there is no TV or air-condition in the rooms.

Farm to Table

Perched on the slopes of a dormant volcano, the grounds provide  wholesome fresh and organic flavours of wild fruits and vegetables, delivered fresh to the table.

We learn about the specificity of this place and the natural cycle of nourishment, cultivation and consumption.

** Please note that all food served during retreat is vegetarian.

Retreat Venue

Central Bali, Tabanan

Our retreat venue is located on the second-highest mountain in central Bali, away from the busy hustle of Kuta and Ubud. This region is relatively quiet and is home to dense forest, unspoiled landscapes, rice terraces and rolling hills - providing a serene escape for those seeking peace and quiet.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The retreat venue is located on a mountain slope and there will be walking up and down of slopes as we move between different parts of the plantation for our activities.

There are approximately 70-80 steps up to the Yoga pavilion which we will walk up daily. Please contact us if you think this would be a problem.

We will be staying in a natural environment, and you will encounter and hear sounds from insects and other wildlife, which we will not be able to control.

Retreat Leader

Hi, I’m Lipeng, your retreat leader and yoga instructor. Having worked as an architect for over two decades, I deeply understand the inherent need for city dwellers to step away periodically, recharge and find balance.

A retreat in a natural environment offers a wonderful opportunity to reset and re-align ourselves to nature's circadian rhythm. When we practise yoga in nature, our experience deepens and the wholesome effects multiply in our body, mind and spirit.

Together, away from the  distractions from daily life, we slow down to take a pause. You will be surprised to find what your inner silence brings.

More about me and the type of yoga I teach here.

    Frequently Asked Questions

You do not need to have done yoga prior to this retreat. However, this yoga retreat is  best suited for those with general mobility and no major issues with knees or hips. You’ll need to be able to walk independently, manage walking up the steps to the yoga pavilion twice daily (about 80 steps), and move comfortably into hands-and-knees positions during practice. Please note that there are also some slopes within the resort. No advanced yoga experience is required — the focus is on mindful movement, presence, and enjoying the retreat at your own pace.

Yoga mats, blankets, blocks and straps will be provided. However, you are welcome to bring any personal items (mat, blanket etc.) that will make you more comfortable in your practice.

The rooms are lovingly constructed by local craftsmen, using only natural or recycled materials such as bamboo and wood. Each room is well considered to suit the natural terrain of the site, and with an openness to the surrounding nature.

All the rooms are naturally ventilated without air-conditioning, and comes with an ensuite bathroom (with water heater) and a terrace. There is no need for air-conditioning as the estate is located at approximately 900m above sea level, and is pleasantly cool.
